During this pandemic, I have received an increasing number of inquiries regarding reporting of suspected child abuse and elder abuse from therapists. I thought it would be a good idea to highlight your responsibilities and legal exposure to report suspected abuse.
Georgia Equitable Caregiver Statute
The Georgia Equitable Caregiver Statute was passed a year ago to give individuals who are NOT the biological parents of a child the opportunity to receive custody or visitation rights. This would include a stepfather, stepmother, or a partner who lives in the home with the child.
Zoom Workshop, 9/18/2020
